For this highly-visible role based in San Francisco, we're looking for our first Head of Brand & Communications to build our brand and communications function. Reporting directly to the CMO, this role will:

  • Be the Brand champion and voice of the customer.

  • Define and articulate our brand strategy and guidelines, working closely with the product owners, CMO and our co-founders.

  • Ensure one consistent tone of voice across all marketing communications.

  • Create clear and compelling value propositions, positioning, and messaging for our brand and products.

  • Develop and own strategies for driving brand awareness and category inclusion.

  • Define and measure brand recall, share of voice, PR and social sentiment, and other key data sets that contribute to our brand health.

  • Deeply understand and articulate the target customer; fully understanding of competitor brand positionings, trends, and opportunities.

  • Develop strategic narratives that increase understanding of Securitize's unique business model and the value we deliver.

  • Own strategy, process, and execution for crisis communications.

  • In partnership with the agency, develop and lead execution of the PR strategies and secure key speaking opportunities.

  • Provide strategic communications counsel to Founders, Product and GTM, and other senior leaders.

  • Initially drive work with agency and contractors, over time will recruit and build a communications, brand, and creative team.


  • 8+ years in a brand and communication experience.

  • Deep proven experience building and defining brands.

  • Visionary leader who seeks out new & innovative ideas & trends.

  • Strong individual contributor, who doesn't mind getting their hands dirty.

  • Excellent communicator, both visually & verbally.

  • Team-player and self-starter with a bias for action; can make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Comfortable with data and proficient measuring brand and campaign performance.

  • Experienced managing and scaling creative / brand teams (both in-house and freelancers).

  • Extensive expertise in building influencer and partnership programs.

  • Comfortable within a fast-growth start-up environment, building new brands from scratch.
